My Christmas In a Nutshell ❅

Friday, December 28, 3 days after Christmas

Holidays were spent with the same surroundings as usual - the family. Right now, I simply can’t express the joy and warmth I felt a couple days ago. I was and am so very grateful to have these people around me. I can’t help sharing Jamie’s Grace lyrics from her song "Christmas Together":

And unless you got twenty people
Stuck on an elevator
I can’t imagine a time when we’re all this close

Right?!

Here are just a couple of my joys from Christmas, not even a half of it can be expressed through photos. But here we go

Don’t bother questioning our sanity.

Oh the meals were just amazing. Those are just a couple of desserts we enjoyed.

My nails were not so very festive, but still, cute!

Now the nice things Santa has left under the tree:

those who know me well also know how crazy I am about blank-page notebooks

Now this is my favorite gift of all. Hot chocolate set which includes two mugs, two different kinds of hot chocolate mix, marshmallows and omg.. can you all just take a moment and have look at this small whisk?! How adorable is that!

I’m not sure whether I’ll be able to make a blog post tomorrow or not, I was planning on doing some kind of looking back at 2012 and welcoming 2013. I hope I’ll have the time tomorrow for such entry, see you then!

Julia’s Christmas Workshop: bakery ♥

Thursday, December 20

So here it is, Julia in her natural habitat. I enjoy anything that involves crafts, decorating and wrapping. Which basically equals nothing else but Christmas! So I obviously get to have my happiest moments during this holiday season. Wrapping little gifts, making cards and omg! probably my favorite one - icing gingerbreads. What’s Christmas without those?!

Here’s everything I baked and iced earlier this week. Have a look, get inspired!

Big snowflakes up above and little red-nosed reindeers at the bottom are my personal favorites

All these cookies were gifted to my best friends yesterday. I’ll be making more gingerbreads some time very soon, for Christmas when all the family gathers at ours.

Only a few days are left! We’re running out of time so fast..or maybe it’s just me. Because I’ve been such a last-minute-person lately. I am still making a present for my homies. And that’s kind of hard because I need to work in the kitchen and everyone’s home most of the time. Ugh. Can you just go somewhere?! Anyways, I’m planning on finishing it tomorrow evening and I’ll definitely share it with you all. It’s such a new thing to me and I’m so excited, so it’s going up on my blog for sure.

xx

A hint to the next blog entry, which will go up in an hour or so. (This is from my notebook, I think I might get back to sharing my doodles more often.)

Birthday Party, Studded Gift & Jack Frost

image

Not for me! A studded gift from me. In fact, it’s by us - a birthday gift made by me and my friend.

Sunday, December 9

I have lots of new photos which haven’t reached the internet just yet. I’m sharing the most latest ones in this post. A little birthday party of my friend’s, celebrated yesterday. Including pictures of a studded sweater that me and my friend made for a bday girl.

Studs were so Summer 2012, but I’m not saying they’re out of style now. And the trend seems to have come here just recently. Also, the stores beginning to sell studs just now, unlike this Summer when the only way to get them was by buying it online, exactly what I did. Well now I’m just very happy there are a couple of stores selling them and I can get them in any shape or size I want!

I guess that was what brought us to making this kind of present. Actually, that was my friend’s idea, she was the one to find studs in our town. So we bought a nice white (more like ivory) sweater, silvery spikes and the work had begun!image

Here we see my friend working on a sweater. She did all the work, it just turned out she was much more better at this. Spikes had to be sewn in, not pushed through the fabric like usually it is with the studs. It would have been a disaster if I had been the one doing it. I highly recommend buying studs that has those little thingies spiking out of them so you can easily push them through, no sewing involved. Thank god for a friend who did the job just perfectly!image

Both shoulder areas of the sweater were studded, the result was  a w e s o m e. Oh, and this handmade tag is made by me! It said Merry Christmas by a mistake, so I wrote Happy Birthday afterwards.image

Our birthday girl loved it, which makes me even happier. She tried it on, it fitted her just fine. Phew, we got the right size!

We went to see "The Rise of The Guardians" which we all really liked. I personally loved it just because of Jack Frost. You can fall in love with a fictional character, but an animated one? That was the first time for me. Someone seriously needs to re-make the movie and cast some hottie for a Jack Frost role, so I wouldn’t feel so weird liking such character now.

A couple more photos from when we got back from the cinema to our friend’s place.

I love you if you’re still reading this, it’s really nice to put up a whole new blog post especially now, when I don’t have that much of a free time. As I mentioned, I have quite a pile of new photos, so more posts are coming up soon!

I know I don’t blog as often as I used to, but I tweet quite a lot. So if anyone’s interested, here’s my twitter page: rosylayers. I go by the same name on instagram too, yeah just so you know ;)

Friday, November 2. A little bit late on month favorites, but hey it’s only the second day of November! And how did we even got here.. it was September just the other day.

And I’m once again breaking the rules of my usual month favorites by posting it as I ♥ FALL tag this time. The tag that’s been mostly going around on youtube videos has come here brought by Eve, so go check out her post as well. And of course feel free to do it yourselves, let me now if you do cause I’d love to read.

Original I ♥ FALL tag questions can be found here in a description box under the video. I changed them for people who live in narnia without Satrbucks and Halloween like me. Uh, I really wish we had those things here, sounds like so much fun! Anyways, those are the questions :)

1. Favorite Fall lip product?

Since I don’t wear lipstick, all that is on my lips most the time is lip balm. To prevent my lips from getting dry on this crispy Fall weather.

2. Favorite Fall nail polish?

I have a few favorites, but I think I’ll go with Essence’s “English Rose” (the one in the picture above). The most perfect color for Fall, toned down red/pink. (I’m thinking of doing a post about Fall nail polishes now cause I have a few more to show!)

3. Favorite Fall drink?

Hot chocolate of course, my recipe can be found here!

4. Favorite Fall candle?

Vanilla scent have been lingering in my bedroom for a long time, so yeah.

5. Favorite Fall scarf or accessory?

The scarf would be a very simple one in burgundy color (don’t have the picture, sorry) and for accessory, well hats of course :)

6. Favorite Fall movie?

I have lots! But right this moment I’ll go with “Matilda” haha! Just cause I watched it yesterday and realized how much I love it. (My choices for Fall movies - here.)

7. Favorite food to eat during Fall time?

Well I like any kind of sweets, but this time, for Fall especially - anything home-made. Apple pies, basically any kind of pies, cookies, again - hot chocolate.

8. What is your favorite thing about Fall?

The thought of home warmth, staying at home in general I’d say. Curling up under the blankets to watch tv shows. Exactly what I’ve been doing this week, I haven’t been outside at all. Hermit lifestyle at its finest! Fall break is coming to an end and before school and all the works starts again I want to enjoy time spent at home. (Check out my Good Things About Autumn that sums up everything I love about Fall)

School trip to Warsaw

October 29, Monday. Oh boy, I don’t even know what to begin with. The entire thing was a huge disaster. Extremely challenging for us. As much as I try, it’s still hard to compound good things about this trip. There are few though.

Blame it on the weather. The first snow had fallen in a really awful way, cold, thick and wet. Plus the wind was blowing insanely all the trip. Bad timing, Winter! As we struggled to keep our umbrellas in our hands, we saw nothing but our feet and the pavement while walking around the city. I would have been even more annoyed if I hadn’t seenWarsawbefore. Lucky traveler me, I had. But it’s such a pity for people who haven’t been there, such as my friends, who are now so disappointed.

The worst thing for me (for others too, I guess) was a lack of sleep. I am that kind of person who simply can’t fall asleep while traveling. 9 hours in the bus to Warsaw, ~7 hours in Warsaw, 9 hours in the bus going back home. Believe me, it’s no fun sleepwalking around the city feeling (and looking) like a zombie, then going back to the bus for another 9 hours sitting stoned in your seat. Ew.

I also wasn’t able to bring my good camera with me this time. So there are literally like 3 pictures that turned out perfectly, all the others are worse than okay. When I think about it now, I’d rather had used my phone camera. So yeah, less photos – less memories of this disastrous trip.

My favorite and no doubts the best thing was Starbucks of course. Since we don’t have it in our country, we indeed enjoyed its treats inPoland. My besties lost their Starbucks virginity back there, mark the day! It surely is the best coffee shop! I mean the coffee is so delicious, it cannot be compared to those we have here no matter how delicious they may seem sometimes. I’m so happy I got the chance to sip the Starbs, yum!

As I was writing this, I realized there has to be some failures added to my traveling experience. Everything just can’t turn out perfectly I guess. I’m not going to grieve over this all my Fall break long.

Today, the first day of the break is spent in my bed, watching tv shows. Literally doing nothing else. Because I still feel like shit after the trip and today’s like a recovery. I hoping I’ll get better tomorrow. Better enough to read a book without words written getting blurry. And better enough for other things I’ve planned for my Fall break.

So that’ll be it, thanks for reading through all of this, whoever did that. I felt like everything had to be written down in order to sort my thoughts out. Made me feel a bit better. Okay, that’s it, bye.

Tuesday, October 16th. It’s such a perfect Autumn day. It’s been drizzling, not raining too much, so it’s cloudy and sun’s no longer peeking through the clouds and I’m absolutely fine with that. Owl City have been playing all afternoon as I was running back and forth, up and down my house, multitasking and succeeding. I finally sat down here to write something, even though I’m a bit tired. But I’m tired-good, just cause I got some stuff done. Like, I baked chocolate chip cookies! These have just been taken out of the oven, still kinda hot. I’ll eat some while catching up on my tv shows! I hope you’re having a nice Tuesday too, if not - make it nice, it’s so much better than to sit and do nothing all day, believe me :)
